Keyboard. It has a nice combination of features with wireless capabilities, backlit keys,
and large print, but can we justify the price? Let's find out in this review. ?Buy The Azio Vision Keyboard - http://bit.Ly/AmazonAzioVisionBacklitKeyboard Unboxing the Azio keyboard, the packaging
is easily accessible. The keyboard is pretty straight forward.
It's full size with a number
pad and some extra room on the frame for the wrist rest and media keys. The keyboard has
a matte finish which I prefer because it won't glare or leave tons of finger prints. The
built in wrist rest is about half the size of a typical wrist rest and it has a textured
surface. It's surprisingly comfortable as the texture keeps your hands in place without
being obtrusive.
Obviously the large keys are a big part of
the interest in this keyboard. They're about twice as large and very easy to read. It's
great for those who need high visibility for their keys. On the top we have a series of
dedicated media keys and there are plenty of features.
It has everything from web browser,
to calculator, even a windows explorer button. These are all very convenient features. However,
the buttons and especially the print are really small. This is ironic because the print on
the main keys are extra large, but the media keys are tiny.
Especially when you are looking
at custom icons, it's hard to tell what they are at a glance. Moving on we have a few LED
indicators that double as power and connection indicators. We also have a brightness control
dial which we'll explore later with the backlit features. The on/off switch is located on the top along
with a micro USB charging port.
This keyboard has a lithium ion battery which is claimed
to last 2 weeks on 1 full charge. The wireless connection is 2.4Ghz and works with the provided
dongle. Azio claims an effective range of up to 30ft which is more than enough for even
a home theater pc setup. Also included with the keyboard is the Micro USB charging cable,
a quick start guide, and a nice contact information card for Azio's support.
Let's dim the lights for the backlit features.
The backlight only activates during typing and fades pretty quickly. It's a nice shade
of blue, but it's not as bright as I had hoped. Using the adjustment dial you can dim the
light to your desire. Overall the backlight does get the job done for illuminating the
keyboard.
Getting into the Negatives of this keyboard,
I'm a little disappointed with the brightness of the backlight. I wish it had stronger illumination,
especially considering that brightness is adjustable. The backlight also fades very
quickly when you finish typing. Media Keys are smaller than expected.
But overall non
of these are deal breakers. The positives of this keyboard are clearly
the large print, wireless capabilities, and adequate backlight. The price comes in at
$60 which is about $10 less than an equivalent Logitech keyboard and a fair price for this
set of features. I still highly recommend this keyboard as Azio puts out products that
have a great price to performance ratio.
