[Lew] Face towards the product eyes, towards the lens. Okay, what do you do mouth closed yeah? How do you do it, how do you express shock without the mouth being closed? I feel like I'm constipated This is harder than it looks Okay, I'm just gonna do it because that's what we do here Hey, how's it going? Dave2D here. And I normally don't unbox things, but I'm in environments where things are unboxed Unboxy place okay iPhone 10 I did not want to do a video in these things because I want to experience these products like a consumer It's some serious stuff But here I am unboxing these things for the world's worst iPhone 10 unboxing. Okay.
I'm just gonna crack these open and See what is up, so I actually haven't seen a single video on these things sorry Jon, sorry Lou but I Wanted to see right. I'm excited about these phones These are one of the first proper products have been like amped about since I started doing YouTube. That's the thing as a youtuber You get a lot of stuff and it's cool to get cool things But you lose that that connection with a new product the new toy that comes in you just you lose that That joy that comes with it, and I wanted to feel it again with the item content, so here. We are Space Gray black whatever they call it and white or silver now the phone I'm using right now is the essential phone and I'm a huge soccer for this phone because of the screen the Somewhat bezel was screen and Really Yeah, but there's gotta be phones that are like like those like those like Asian was like dude II know What's this one iPhone 10 Cool So how good is that unboxing you guys want to see more of this on my channel? He subscribed should I just should I just keep going going? Yeah, but come on power chapter sit down Tell me how is it done as a nun as a professional? Versus unboxer first of all first of all you need to take it down a notch because your Husband's feet I mean you're scaring people in this video and audiences as well.
For years UAG has been my go to case recommendation. They provide a ton of protection while not
adding a lot of bulk and have a great tactical look thats popular with many. UAG was kind enough to send me these cases
for review and in this review well look at the four most popular models to help you
decide if its the right case to protect your iPhone X. Well dive into the specifics of each case
that make them unique in a moment but first lets look at the UAG defining characteristics
that all these cases share.
UAG cases are mil spec rated meaning they
can withstand repeated drops from four feet to all sides of the case. This is largely due to the corner skid pads. The corners of the cases are bulked up to
absorb impact without making the entire case bulky. Statistically if you drop your phone its
going to hit a corner first and these corner skid pads do a great job of transferring that
energy through the case and not into your phone.
In addition to the skid pads the cases all
feature a raised front edge to protect the screen without interfering with the edge swipe
gestures. One of my favorite features that can get overlooked
is how well the buttons work. Many cases make the buttons on your phone
feel stiff or squishy. Thats not so with UAG.
The buttons feature a slit alongside them
that makes them work almost as well as if you didnt have a case. They still click very well and are a joy to
use. The cutouts are all very precise and adequate. They feature extra material that fills the
opening making it flush with the phone.
What does your mind tells you when hear the name iPhone X? Expensive, luxurious, cool, obsessed, want to sell your kidney? Whatever it is it wont change the condition that iPhone X. Is the most unique and expensive smartphone Apple has ever released. IPhone X is a very pocket-able and super easy-handgripping smartphone. Before, when I used the iPhone 7 Plus, then Galaxy Note 8, and now iPhone X, my pants pocket immediately feels much more spacious.
Apple successfully blend a 19.5:9 5.8-Inch screen in a 5.2 Inches body of a smartphone. If we compare it with Xiaomi Mi 6, its dimensions is almost similar. I'm sure theres more people will impress with the iPhone X design than those who doesnt. The front part is already all-screen, there is no more physical Home button and fingerprint sensor.
Only a chain of Face ID sensors to recognized your face while unlock it. But unfortunately, these sensors are placed at the top of the screen that make the iPhone X looks annoying. However, believe it or not, my annoyed sense is only last for two days. Afterwards, I get used to it and feel the enjoyment while browsing, gaming, or watching videos.
In fact it is possible that this fringe-style iPhone will be followed by Android smartphones. Another annoying thing is the design of its main camera that- again is very blatant and placed vertically on the top-left. In terms of aesthetics, it seems unappealing. IPhone X itself turns out have a quite of a bulky body, especially at the frame part.
This part is made from stainless steel, so it is more solid and sturdy. And of course it makes the iPhone X slightly feel heavy- that is 174 grams in weight. As for the physical buttons and ports, are still in the same position. The power button on the right, now have an extend in size.
Yo Guys johnathan here, I'm excited. Hopefully you are too, and that is because it is iPhone 10 unboxing time This is it let's go so here we have the box iPhone X previewed on the outside We got that pretty pretty pretty wallpaper that notch, which maybe for better or for worse But we shall see towards the bottom with the flash out icon the camera icon and from what I understand you can access those by 3d touching and actually what might be the coolest part about this box I'm not sure if you can pick it up, but this outer part Which would be the stainless steel portion of the iPhone X on the box actually has this a little bit of like Reflective shine and it's kind of Awesome now shiny reflective box aside let's pop this open Throw that in there we got the designed by Apple in California That of course includes, I am sure The hello Quick Start Guide Little overview of the iPhone X and of course who could forget the Apple stickers as much as we love Apple stickers though That is not Why we are here we are here for the iPhone X let's pop that out This is in the 256 gigabyte silver which is a very very beautiful color I think I actually prefer this over the Space Gray. It just looks really really nice. I'm gonna Second part through and that is a really really Wow That is shiny like if you got the box with shiny This is super shiny so taking a closer look at the iPhone 10 We have an all glass back, which looks very very classic It is very shiny like I mentioned across the sides we have that stainless steel, which is very reminiscent of the iPod Classic So I'm getting some throwback vibes here.
We of course have the dual cameras What's interesting with this though is actually the telephoto lens is now stabilized unlike the iPhone 8 plus? So that is new here on the iPhone 10 so this button right here Which is formerly known as the power button is now dubbed the side? But it's elongated there are three main functions one We're gonna hold it That's gonna activate Siri, and yes, just like the Galaxy s8 has a big Z button the iPhone 10 now has a Serie B. So let's get the laughs out to we're gonna press it once It's gonna wake the phone in three Double tap that will activate Apple pay so flipping it this way we have the mute switch the volume up volume down towards the bottom Nothing new here We have the Lightning port it actually looks really nice in that stainless steel and of course No headphone jack now before I go and set up the iPhone 10 I'm gonna give you a quick rundown of the accessories. This isn't really new here. We have the USB wall brick We have the Lightning earpods and on the flip side of that is the Lightning the 3.5 Millimeter audio adapter that is in the box So unlike most Apple things you're not paying extra for this and last But not least we have the lightning cable now for the aforementioned excited people out there What would an iPhone 10 unboxing be without an iPhone 10? Giveaways so to enter it is very simple just make sure you subscribe if you haven't yet do that turn on notifications And it's not required But if you're feeling awesome make sure to drop a like down below From there one of the things I am most Interested about a setting up face ID because that is something brand new to the iPhone And it should be interesting First position your face and the camera frame then move your head in the circle to show all angles of your face get started There we go Got to my face and now I got to move my head in a circle Like I'm getting a neck stretch Stretch it out first ID scan complete move your head slowly to complete the circle.
I guess we'll go The other way and Got it So from the unlock state there are three ways to unlock the iPhone ten one we can press that side button you can see up Here that little lock icon opens up too. We can tap again look for that icon or three We have the classic raise to wake and again that icon opens up now from what I understand the quickest way to unlock the iPhone 10 would be to from the sleep states tap and then swipe up and Instantly we are in that works really well so another were inside the iPhone 10 the biggest thing of course here is the lack of? Home button so to mimic that if we actually go over to Safari Press that there's a little reminder here We're gonna swipe up and it's gonna bring us back home This is the same exact thing if you're on a different row of app swipe over Swipe up if we swipe from the top right hand side that is actually gonna Give us control center from there swipe down in the left hand corner And that is gonna give us notifications now to access multiple applications There's actually a couple of different ways to do this one We can actually swipe up and kind of give a little pause that's gonna give us all of our apps here Which we can swipe through or if we're inside an app so say we open up iTunes We can actually swipe across the bottom and that's gonna give us a run down through different apps We can swipe right swipe left, so it's kind of cool. They have a couple ways to do things now from there I gotta say the screen actually is pretty solidly bright. There's a lot of questions and concerns There was the screen gonna be bright enough We're outdoors right now, and it actually looks really good and I have any problems seeing the screen it is a beautiful looking display as far as the Resolution on the screen goes get ready for a number You are probably not gonna remember 24 36 by 11 25 classic Apple resolution nonetheless It is a great looking display from there to address a couple questions You might have with the lack of home button on the iPhone 10.
How do you access Siri? You can do that a couple ways one by holding the side button Or you can just simply say hey, Siri Tell me a joke That suck from there if you're curious how do you actually take a screenshot on your iPhone you can do that by pressing the side button and the volume up together Screenshot and last, but not least how do you power off your iPhone 10? You can do that with a side button and either the volume buttons just hold those together and you Are good to go so now it is time for probably most of you out there I've been waiting for I am excited to check it out. It is an emoji time. I am stoked to send rich a Tract monkey with my face right now it's Everywhere, I move my head. It does a crazy job tracking your face your eyebrows your eyes does it do your nose Whoa those lips you're rich.
I'll break your legs. I'll give you a kiss ma a Crazy man, holy crap from there. I'm gonna go get that full screen preview We got the robots the yellow cats from what I understand it does not track tongues, so if you're into that sorry got bad news The dog shows a tongue though in that preview though where's that tongue? Alien that does some we look at his heads popping out Ritchie scream man give me your best alien voice and then like scream put your face in there Ralphie I'm an alien what? Perfect So hours many many hours I could see potentially spent here I don't know if I would call it being wasted, but it is fun in the lesson I get as some people might hate on it, but I can add an eye that it is pretty cool just to be able to see your face being tracked on to aliens dogs a big pile of Emoji Crap we got that panda shoutout to the pixel to excel and a bunny with those teeth Hey that eyebrow from there you can actually save these into your camera roll Or if you don't want to send a video you can actually just simply send a sticker so surprise panda hold drag it over and We got a shout-out to Justine so from there I got a chance to check out the camera on the iPhone 10 dual cameras aren't new But what is new is one obviously the portrait orientation and also the actual telephoto lens on here is stabilizing Like the iPhone 8 plus, so that should give you some better performance so this shot here is mr. Brandon locking down the Camera this is with the wide angle lens hopping over to the telephoto lens you can see we don't really lose much in terms of Light so it's pretty solid jumping from one to the other got that beautiful rich smile here with that portrait mode But I was also really interested to check out portrait mode on a selfie camera because we've all seen how good the pixels 2 is So I was curious to see could this even stack up with that and initial impressions are so far.
I like it There's a little bit better of a job in terms of natural skin tones at a more softer image sometimes that pixel too is Almost over sharp, but for whatever reason the iPhone 10 seemed to hate my ears I'm not sure if I have big ears or whatever it was if I do, it's okay I can handle it insert Dumbo joke here but for whatever reason It just ended up being a little soft around my ears most of the time same thing with the hair from there though first day with the camera got some really incredible results this year, which seems to be a Super fancy fire hydrant if I zoom in Do not remove by the order of the State Fire, Marshall. I will not mess with that these shots here of this pretty Pinkish purple flower. This is what the wide-angle lens, but as we hop over to the telephoto lens I really like this one right here because there is no portrait effect that is just natural out of the camera it looks Amazing so this here It's not a crazy image or anything right here But I just love the dynamic range the sky the clouds the shadows everything is just super Visually satisfying as things started a little darker really great low-light performance This right here was actually just about sunset you can see with no portrait mode It is a beautiful beautiful shot here again hopping over to a close-up of a leaf This is the telephoto lens and again It's super sharp super detailed and overall it was a really good experience with that camera now was also just as impressive was video Like this shot in particular right here. Holy crap same thing dynamic range.
We got the sky Stabilization is on points So I am really excited to stack this up against the pixel 2 that something you guys want to see let me know over the comment down Below this was probably the biggest testament to the camera. It was right about sunset You can see one how well that stabilization works into how well everything is being held together like that Sun that glow That grass the buildings the trees This is a really really impressive video right here So now we're hopping over to the front-facing camera test as far as video quality goes with the iPhone 10 really impressed with the rear camera 4k 24 frames per second because 24 is better than 30, I'm sorry let me know what you guys think of the quality of the front-facing camera We'd love to hear what you're seeing with a comment down below I'm know if you guys want to see more pictures and photos taken from the iPhone 10 make sure you're following me on Instagram I. Will be posting a ton of stuff over there over the next week aside from that that has been my first day with the iPhone 10 Hopefully you guys enjoyed this video if you have any questions at all make sure you guys drop a comment down below I'll be doing a follow-up video to this so let me know what you want to see with the iPhone 10 This is Jonathan and I will catch you guys later.
For more than a decade, our intention has
been to create an iphone that is all display. A physical object that disappears into the
experience. This is iPhone X. Hey everybody and welcome to the video.
This is Josh here, and today we're talking
about the iPhone x. I've been an avid apple fan and user for a
little over a decade now. I went to school for graphic design, I've
always loved their products, so take that for what it is, this will be a little bit
of a bias review. I've been using this phone for a little bit
over a week now and let me tell you, it has been a joy to use.
I don't want to show you guys the whole unboxing,
but I did record the only thing that matters, the most important. You're welcome. So the first thing I wanted to dive into is
the new design. You know, I came from the iPhone 7 plus so
I'm used to the bigger form factor, this is a lot closer in feel to the regular 6, 7,
and 8 lineup than it is the plus lineup, which I like.
You kind of get the best of both worlds. You have that smaller, more handheld form
factor but I do have the bigger screen that the plus line used to have. So going almost entirely edge to edge on the
new display, with the exception of the notch. I know there's been a lot of hate out there
for the notch, I love that picture of MKBHD.
With the notch haircut. Let me tell you, I never really had a problem
with it to begin with, and especially now after using for a little over a week it's
not something that I am even thinking about anymore. I would much rather have that little notch
there than have a bigger bezel. And with that edge to edge display comes a
brand new OLED screen, this thing looks leaps and bounds better than the iPhone 7 plus.
One little gripe I do have though, the aspect
ratio is a little bit goofy on this compared to what I'm used to. I noticed it a lot more in the first couple
of days, now it hasn't been as much of a problem, but the phone is a lot taller and skinnier
than I pictured. What that means though for video, you know
a lot of us are watching YouTube videos, and a lot of common video that we watch unless
it has that letterbox bar is going to also be in a 16x9. Unless you want to zoom and crop in, you're
going to have bezels on either side, so I.
Feel like the bigger display isn't utilized
quite as well because that aspect ratio is stretched out so much. Really really great for navigating the phone,
really great for web browsing, really great for everything else but watching video. It does also use a new technology called true
tone, it will adjust the white balance of the screen to try and best match and accurately
represent the colors in whatever environment you're in. Apple has also decided to go with an entirely
glass body on this phone.
Now I am somebody that has been case-less
for the last couple of years and this does have me a little bit concerned. As I see more and more of the drop tests coming
in, I'm pretty much certain, if I drop this phone it's going to break. I use AppleCare, they've always taken care
of my other devices in the past, even when I was outside of that warranty timeframe. After getting the AppleCare it's $29 for a
screen replacement, that's cheaper than half the cases on the market, but that's something
to keep in mind.
If you don't get a good strong case, if you
drop it most likely it will break. Alright, so the next big change I wanted to
talk about is faceID. Apple has gotten rid of the fingerprint sensor
in the touchID system in favor of FaceID. It uses a combination of different cameras
in that front little notch, and it scans your face and allows you to unlock your phone.
Honestly, I've been using FaceID for a little
over a week now and I do not miss touchID. In the slightest. The faceID works quicker and better and easier
in my opinion, I just look at the phone and it unlocks, there's not really any delay. I'd say about 1 out of 10 times it'll have
a slight hiccup, you can see it have to load, but in general it's loaded and ready before
I even am ready for it.
And with this new front facing camera system
comes animoji's, it can track your face and you can send video messages to anyone you
know. So overall, the new faceID system has been
excellent, I'm glad it seems like they're going to be implementing it into all of the
other phones in the future years to come. Alright, and next up I wanted to talk about
the camera in these new phones. It uses a 2 camera system on the back, one
is a wide angle lens, another is a telephoto lens, they actually share the same sensor
that's in the iPhone 8 but have a little bit different glass.
The wide angle is an f 1.8 Aperture and the
telephoto lens is an f 2.4 Aperture. Both lenses are optically stabilized, so it's
going to help reduce that camera shake. In previous years, and on the iPhone 8, it's
only on the wide angle lens, in the iPhone x it is on both lenses. This is huge for someone like me, I use my
phone as a professional video device.
I shoot some of my videos, this is my b camera
quite often, so having that stabilized telephoto lens is going to be huge for me. Between the better camera and the new display
the photos I've been getting out of this thing look amazing. It shoots 4k video at 60 frames a second,
which is hard to find in even higher end DSLR's for video. This was the biggest improvement in camera
I've noticed in the last few generations of iPhone.
The dynamic range is great, it's super sharp,
super clear, and I'm really looking forward to using this for the channel going forward. One other new feature that apple has added
is wireless charging. So we no longer have to plug in our phones
to charge them, I believe that was the main reason why they decided to go with the glass
back on the phone. Now this feature is kind of cool on paper,
but something I had never really thought about because I didn't have a wireless enabled phone
previously, if you're charging your phone you're not able to use your phone.
The second you pick up your phone off the
charging pad you can't charge it. So I've been finding myself the last few days
still plugging it in versus using my wireless charger, if I'm sitting at my desk I want
to be able to use my phone while it charges and that's something that can't really happen
right now with wireless charging. I was able to find on amazon a really reasonably
priced wireless charger, I think it was $12 when I picked it up. I've had that on my desk, I've been using
it, I'm still trying to learn its place in my life.
I don't know if I want to keep it at work,
or at home, or at my bedside. Depending on your lifestyle, if you have an
office job or something where you will be picking up your phone a lot and using it throughout
the day, you're not going to be able to use it and charge it simultaneously unless you
plug it in the good old-fashioned way. Alright, and I know I'm not talking really
heavy on the specs here, but I wanted to mention the overall performance. This thing has been blazing fast.
I had a lot of issues when I updated to ios
11 on my older iPhone 7 plus before getting this, but since getting this it is really
optimized very very well with iOS 11, this thing is super snappy and fast and responsive. The animations look great, it feels great
to use, all in all zero zero complaints on the overall performance. So those are all my thoughts on the new iPhone
X. I know I haven't done a tech review on here
before, let me know what you thought down below, I'd love to make reviews a more regular
thing on the channel, I think the tools that I use and keep in my life are very important
to me so maybe that would be of interest to you guys also.
But be sure to like the video if you did enjoy
it, and leave me a comment down below, do you already have the new iPhone x? Are you planning on getting one? Do you have an android phone? I'd love to get that discussion going, and
make sure to subscribe if you want to see more, I put out new videos every Monday and
Friday, but until next time, I will talk to you all later. Have a good one..
Jony Ive: For
more than a decade, our intention has been to create
an iPhone that is all display. A physical object that
disappears into the experience. Music playing This is iPhone X. Developing the form
and display together defines a whole new integration, making the boundary between
the device and the screen hard to discern.
The custom OLED panel
was engineered to fold and seamlessly combine with
the external surfaces. Mechanical buttons give way
to touch and gestures. There's no Home button. A single swipe takes you
to the Home screen.
A more responsive touch system
means the gestures in iOS 11 are more fluid. The polished
stainless steel band reinforces the water-resistant,
all glass design. This new glass formulation, the most durable ever
in a smartphone, enables, for the first time,
wireless charging. Our new TrueDepth camera system, contained within
this tiny space, uses extraordinary
depth sensing technology to let you unlock your phone
with a glance.
We call this FaceID. It maps the unique
geometry of your face with over 30,000 invisible dots. This data is analyzed
by the neural engine on the A11 bionic chip,
the first of its kind. Your iPhone now
recognizes you, even in the dark, and will
adapt to your physical changes.
This makes your face
your secure password. So with just a look, you can authenticate your phone
or use Apple Pay. The TrueDepth camera also
enables new experiences. Like bringing emojis to life by mapping more than 50
facial muscles in real time.
So you can be happy, or sad, or cross. Both the front-
and rear-facing cameras now have Portrait Mode. And for the first time, you can actually
define the light in a scene. Based on fundamental
photographic principles, Portrait lighting produces the effect
of real studio lighting.
- What's up YouTube? Saf here on SuperSafTV. And in this video, we're
gonna be looking at the key differences between the iPhone X. And the Samsung Galaxy Note8. So, straight up, why are
we comparing the Note8, which is a large device, to the iPhone X? Well, these devices are the best offerings from the manufacturers and this comparison will be the best versus the best.
So let's get the size out
of the way straight away. The Note8 is the larger device overall. It's almost 19 millimeters taller. But what's interesting
is that it's only around 3.9 Millimeters wider.
That does come down to the
curved sides of the Note8, which we'll be talking
about in a little bit. And it's also around
0.9 Millimeters thicker. In terms of the weight, 21
more grams on the Note8. And all of these reasons
are because the Note8, as expected, as a larger display.
6.3 Inches versus 5.8
Inches on the iPhone X. Now both devices have minimal
bezels, which is great to see. 2017 Is definitely the
year of minimal bezels. You've got larger displays
without increasing the size of the bodies too much.
And both devices also
have OLED technology, which means you're gonna
be getting vibrant colors as well as deep blacks. Up until now, iPhones have been
having LED backlit displays which are good, but they're
never as good as OLED displays. This time, we finally
have an OLED display, and it's gonna be comparable to the Note8. In terms of resolution however, the Note8 does have a higher resolution, even with that larger display.
So that's 2960 by 1440. And that comes to, roughly, about 522 ppi. The iPhone X has a 2436
by 1125 pixel resolution, Apple will always do that, with some of these random
numbers, which I do not get. And that's roughly about a
558 pixels per inch density.
Now both of these do have
a very high pixel density. The Note8 edging out here slightly. So if you do have the device up close, and if you're going to be
using it for things like VR, then the Note8 is gonna
be a little bit better because of the high pixel density. Now the iPhone X does have 3D touch.
Now that is a pressure sensitive display, so you can press harder
anywhere on the display, and it's going to give you
more options on things. On the Note8, you only
have the home button area which is pressure sensitive,
and you can press down hard on. The iPhone X has a swipe
up feature to go home. So that's a change here, because there is no longer
space for a home button.
Now, moving on to the builds, they've never been so similar. We've got metal frames with glass panels on the front and back. So both of these very, very premium. The Note8, however, is
curved from the front as well as the back.
And this, as we were discussing earlier, does give it a larger display with a narrower body than you would expect for this screen size. Both of these devices have
water and dust resistance. IP68 on the Note8 and
IP67 on the iPhone X. It's great that both of
them do have this feature.
In terms of colors, you do
have some more color options available on the Note8 compared
to that of the iPhone X. Now moving on to the internals,
the Note8 has some of the fastest processors available
on the Android side. So you've got the Snapdragon
835 or the Exynos 8895 depending on your location
with 6 gigabytes of RAM. The iPhone X has Apple's
brand new A11 Bionic chip.
Now this is supposed to be
very, very fast and efficient. And it also supports augmented reality, which should be really good. It'll be interesting to see
how Apple implements this going forward, but in terms of
speed differences and things, we are gonna have to do some
speed tests side by side of both devices to see
which one is better. If you guys want to see
that, then make sure you have subscribed to the channel.
In terms of RAM, we're not
sure exactly how much RAM. The iPhone X currently has. Moving on to storage, the
Note8 comes in three different sizes, 64, 128, or 256 gigabyte options. You can expand that storage as well, so you do have a micro SD card slot, which is definitely nice to have.
On the iPhone X you've got either 64 or 256 gigabyte options. You can not, however, expand
the storage on the iPhone X, as you've never been
able to do on iPhones. So the Note8, in terms of storage, would get the advantage here. Now moving on to the cameras, things are very similar
here in terms of the set up.
We've got Dual 12 megapixel
cameras on both of these. Which both support optical
image stabilization. And they also work in a similar way, where you're gonna get
a wide-angle camera, as well as a telephoto camera, which is gonna give you
two times optical zoom. You've got f/1.7 Aperture
versus f/1.8 On the iPhone X.
When it comes to the wide-angle camera, but when it comes to the telephoto camera, both of these have an f/2.4 Aperture. Both devices also have a feature to blur the background on images. It's called Live Focus on the Note8 and on the iPhone X it's
called Portrait mode. Now on the Note8 you can blur
the background after the fact.
This is something you
can't do on the iPhone X. However, the iPhone X does have
a portrait lighting feature, which is gonna be in beta
originally and it's gonna let you adjust the lighting effect or your images. Looks very promising. You will be able to adjust
lighting after the fact too.
With the Note8, it does take images from both the wide-angle as well
as the telephoto camera. This is definitely useful so
you've captured both of those in case you do want to get
the wide angle shot too. Now, obviously, we'll be doing a SuperSaf style camera comparison as soon as the iPhone
X is out commercially. And if you want to see that first, make sure you have subscribed
and switched on notifications.
Now moving on to video, this is where things get interesting. Once again, the Note8
takes some great video. I've done lots of camera
tests here on the channel, so definitely do go ahead
and check those out. And you've got 4K at 30 frames a second.
You've also got slow motion at 720p at 240 frames a second. Now, the iPhone X actually
looks very impressive with 4K at 60 frames a second and 1080p video slow motion
at 240 frames a second. Now this looks very, very promising, and I can't wait to test out the iPhone X. Because of the video features that it has.
I believe it's the first smart phone with 4K at 60 frames a second. I may be wrong, but it's
definitely one of the first and it looks very, very promising. In terms of front facing
cameras, the Note8 has an 8 megapixel front facing camera with an f/1.7 Aperture
and it has auto focus with 1440p video recording. The iPhone X has a 7
megapixel front facing camera with an f/2.2 Aperture
and 1080p video recording.
But it's got facial recognition,
so this is gonna allow you to have a portrait mode. So it's gonna blur the
background from the front facing camera as well. And you'll also have the
portrait lighting effects too. These will be in beta initially.
And that definitely nice to see. There is also animoji, which is, again, a track your face and represent
emojis to that effect. So if you're into that kind of thing, then that's also there. We'll have to do some
detailed camera comparisons between these two to
see which one of these takes better selfies, but both here are very, very promising.
Now in terms of the operating systems, we've got Android version
7.1.1 With Samsung's Experience skin on top currently on the Note8. The iPhone X is gonna come
with iOS 11 out of the box. Now obviously, it's Android versus iOS. A lot of it comes down
to personal preference, so not gonna go into a battle here.
Android, I find, is a
little bit more flexible and you do have some
additional features with the Samsung Experience skin,
such as multi window as well as app pair, which is gonna allow you to
open two apps in multi window with just one touch. But iOS, I find, is a little more simple and straight forward for a lot of people and you also get updates
quicker from iOS compared to that on Android when it has
a skin like the Note8 has. This, once again, is gonna come down to your personal preference. Now let's move on to
the additional features that both devices have.
In terms of unlocking the device, the Note8 has a fingerprint scanner, which is at the back. Position is slightly inconvenient, and this is something that a
lot of people have discussed but you do have an iris scanner, and you also have facial unlock so you can point it at your
face, and that is gonna unlock but it's not as secure and it
can be fooled by a picture. Some people have also tried this. The iPhone X, this time
around, we have no touch ID.
So this has been removed
because of the bezel display. A lot of people were thinking that touch ID's gonna go on the back, but this is not the case either. We now have face ID, which is a form of 3D facial recognition. Now what's funny is that, on the actual demo, it failed, but it does look very, very promising in terms of how it's
going to scan your face and it shouldn't be fooled by a picture.
How convenient this is
gonna be compared to just touching the home button,
we'll have to wait and see, but this is supposed to be quite a secure form of facial recognition,
so it should work pretty well from what Apple are telling us. Now, the iPhone X still has
stereo speakers as well, which is great. So one at the ear piece
and one at the bottom, so you've got better sound on
here compared to the Note8, which has a single bottom facing speaker. You don't have a 3.5
Millimeter headphone jack on the iPhone X however.
This is something that
you do have on the Note8. Now although you will get
the dongle on the iPhone X, which is gonna go from
lightning to the 3.5 Millimeter, it can be inconvenient
for a lot of people, just something to consider. On the Note8, as well as the
3.5 Millimeter headphone jack, you do get EKG headphones out of the box, which do sound pretty good. For the personal assistants,
you've got Siri versus Bixby.
Now this would take a bit
more of a detailed video in terms of which one
of these perform better. I've been playing around with Bixby, and it does allow you to
take some deep actions, which I hope Siri will be
getting at a later point. The Note8 does have the S Pen as well. This is a unique feature and not something that you're gonna find
on many other devices.
It can be very, very useful. It's got features such as Off Screen Memo, which is gonna let you jot down
a quick memo on the display, even when it is off, and that's gonna stay on there because of the always on display. You've got live translate, so you can hover over things
and it's gonna translate those in real time. And it's also gonna
convert currency for you.
And generally with the S
Pen, for signing documents and things like that, this
is gonna be quite useful. You've got nothing like
this on the iPhone side. Now moving on to the batteries, the Note8 has a 3300 mH battery. It supports fast charging, as well as fast wireless charging.
With the iPhone X, we're
not sure of the exact size of the battery as yet. Apple have said you're
gonna get two more hours of standby time on it
compared to the iPhone 7, so it's difficult to say what
the exact size of the battery is and how it's gonna impact, because of the high resolution display. We'll find out what the exact size is once somebody pops open an iPhone X, which is not gonna be any time soon. But the new thing on the iPhone
X is that it does support wireless charging.
This is the first on the iPhone side, so it's great to see that we
now have wireless charging. It will also support fast charging. This is something that
wasn't really mentioned on the key note, but something
that was briefly highlighted on the notes. What we will do is we'll
do some more battery tests and things as soon as we've
got the commercial version of the iPhone X in hand.
And we'll also do some
charging speed tests, to see which one of these charges faster. Now, finally, let's look at the price. The Note8, a lot of people were
complaining about the price when it was initially announced. So we're looking at $950
in the US or 870 pounds here in the UK.
Now this is not gonna seem as
bad when we look at the prices of the iPhone X. So for the same base model, 64 gigabytes, we're looking at roughly
about a $1,000 in the US, or even 1,000 pounds here in the UK. Normally in the UK, as
you can see on the Note, because of exchange rates, the price in the UK is
usually slightly less, roughly about 10% less,
and this time around, Apple have decided to keep
it the same price as dollars, so people in the UK, like
myself, are really being screwed over. So this is something that I'm personally, quite disappointed about.
And it is a very, very expensive device. If you go for the 256 gigabyte model, you're gonna be looking at
around $1,150 or 1,150 pounds. So a very, very premium, but
very expensive device here on the iPhone X. The Note8 definitely
also expensive, but it is a little bit cheaper
compared to the iPhone X.
And in terms of release, the Note8 is shipping worldwide
from the 15th of September. Some people have already got it. I've currently got mine. With the iPhone X, it's gonna be available for preorder from the 27th of October, the day after my birthday, so hopefully I will get a lot of money for my birthday, cause this is definitely gonna set me back.
It's gonna be releasing
on the 3rd of November. So those are the dates that you need to put into your diaries. So there we have it guys, the Samsung Galaxy Note8
versus the iPhone X comparison. Both very, very premium devices
with a premium price tag.
What do you guys think of these devices? Which one would you go for? Definitely drop me a comment
below and let me know. I hope you enjoyed this

HI Guys, it's MTG here, and today I'm going
to be comparing the cameras found on the Google Pixel 2 XL and the iPhone X. They are inarguably two of the best cameras
that you can find on a smartphone to date, so I wanted to see how they compared head-to-head. I'll be comparing them in different lighting
conditions, and I'll also take a look at their videos. Everything was set to automatic.
Let's get right into it. Looking at the camera specs, the iPhone X
has a dual-12 Megapixel system, with a wide-angle and telephoto lens at f/1.8 And f/2.4 Apertures
respectively. The telephoto lens allows the X to have 2x
optical zoom and take depth-effect portrait pictures. The cameras can record up to 4K at 60 fps
and 1080p at up to 240 fps.
They have dual optical image stabilization. The X's front TrueDepth camera is 7 Megapixels
with an aperture of f/2.2. It can take portrait mode pictures, and can
record video at up to 1080p at 30 fps. The Pixel 2 XL, on the other hand, has a single
12.2 Megapixel sensor with an f/1.8 Aperture.
Using Google's image processing and machine
learning, it can also achieve portrait style pictures on both the front and back cameras. The camera can record up to 4K at 30 fps and
1080p at up to 120 fps. It has both optical and electronic image stabilization. The Pixel 2 XL's front camera is 8 Megapixels
with an aperture of f/2.4, And can also take portrait mode pictures.
Hey guys, how's it going? I am so excited right now. Because in front of me is the new iPhone X, and I am shaking. I am shaking with excitement. And I would say that this is an official official unboxing, but I actually could not even wait until I got home.
So I kind of already pre-opened this at my friend's house. So here is my initial reaction of my first moment with the iPhone X. I'm freaking out! *Gasp* It's beautiful. Oops, I put it on backwards! Upside down! Oh no, I made a mistake! So now I waited until I got home, and I put it back in the box, but it's clearly already turned on and already set up.
But this is a re-unboxing, I guess you could say. Ta-da~ Reveal! So let's go through some of this. I was already digging through here because I had to get the SIM card ejector so that I could immediately, as fast as I could, get my SIM card out of my iPhone 8 and into the X immediately. And I just looked down in this box and it already recognized my face.
So~ What do you know? Face ID is fantastic. But more on that, more on that. Let's get into what else is inside of the iPhone X box. We've got our little pamphlet here.
And there is the SIM card ejector which I actually put right back in. I re-boxed this thing for this unboxing. I mean would you take a look at this. This is something that I'm sure many of you have seen before and maybe-- *~ding~* Ugh, "Jenny Ezarik tweeted." OK, we need to turn off my watch notifications.
SIM card ejector, you get the point. We've got our fantastic wonderful beautiful stickers. Look. At.
This. Next up we've got another piece of paper with a lot of text on it. I don't want to be bothered with that, but what is this? Welcome to iPhone. It's kind of crazy when I unboxed the...
I forget what it was. Oh, it was the iPod Shuffle. It was brand-new, and it was so crazy. Just to sort of see all the old documentation and the things that they thought were important to include.
So now here we are, iPhone X. Here's what it looks like. We've got our face ID setup. What is this? Oh wh- Oh, I thought that was a little piece of some sort of tape, but it is a little arrow that is showing you how to use your home button which is no longer there.
Swipe up. What else do we have in here? Nothing. And here it is. Beautiful iPhone X.
It's shining, it's shimmering, it's splendid, it's beautiful. It's perfect and it is everything and more that I'd hoped that this phone would be. I just almost dumped everything out. It's already on.
It's already set up so I can spare you guys that whole setup process, and I just unlocked it. Face ID. Wow it's incredible. Let's take a look at the back and it really is much more amazing in person.
I mean the glass shines right through into the silver back. It has the stainless steel bands all the way around the edge. And it really does remind me--oh yes, actually of the 3GS. This was not what I was grabbing for but this reminds me a lot of the 3GS.
There it is. The stainless steel all the way around it. But really you guys have seen that before let's take a look at the X. I'm trying not to shake, but I'm shaking with excitement.
This is a perfect time for a slow-mo iPhone X montage. So when you first turn it on it's kind of crazy because it does take some getting used to. You now swipe up to open. Swipe down on the right for your control center, and if you swipe down at the top or on this left hand side, that'll take you to your notification center.
A lot of people like to close apps, so to do that you just swipe up and you hold. So you just pause here for a little bit. You can switch to the apps that you want to get to or you can close them. Press and hold, and that will give you the option to delete, and you swipe up.
Or you can hit right here up at the top and that will delete all of your open apps that you'd no longer want to use. One of the things that I really like that's on the home screen is they have access to the flashlight and the camera right there. I feel like those are the two things that I'm always struggling to find especially when I'm walking my dog, or if something really cool is happening, and I'm like I gotta get to my camera, I got to get to it, it's right there. So you can just click on the camera or you can swipe over to give you quick access to your camera.
So you got two options. Click here or swipe over. Let's see what else is in this box. So we've got the regular power brick.
Of course, this is something that I'm sure many of you have seen before. And inside here we've got our ear pods. Right here. Ear pods in the front and your dongle in the back.
At this point I've lost so many dongles that I probably could have bought an entire new phone with how much I've spent on dongles. But now that I have air pods, I don't actually ever need the dongles anymore, so it's quite the iPhone dilemma. We've also got in here one of the lightning cables, but you can never have too many lightning cables. Get outta there.
One of the things that people made fun of the most about the iPhone X is the notch at the top. And for whatever reason, it really has not bothered me at all. I was one of those that made fun of it and to be completely honest with you, I didn't even notice that it was a thing. It just sort of seamlessly integrates into the phone.
And another thing that I like is when I was going to delete apps, there's a little notification up here that says done. Whereas before most people would normally hit the home button. But now there's not a home button so you can just hit right up there, click done, and you're ready to go. I was also very surprised how quickly I adapted to not having a home button.
At this point, it's like I didn't even ever have one to begin with. One thing that I was worried about when I would get in my car because I always use my phone for directions, I thought since it's kind of far away because it's sitting on my dashboard that it wouldn't be able to read my face and unlock if I reached my hand over and guess what? It did. And it was dark and everything just worked perfectly. It was quite surprising because it was one of the things that I was most worried about.
So I want to show you guys how easy it is to set up face ID. I'm gonna go through here, and I'm gonna delete my previous face, and I'm gonna add my new face, which is ironically the same face, but whatever. So right in here you have the face ID and passcode. And it asks you to enter your passcode.
So I'll enter that. Here's the option to reset face ID, so we will do that right here. So I'm gonna do a screen capture so I can show you guys the setup process for face ID. So look-it, the new screen capture is right up here on the top to let me know that it's recording, so you guys can see that's usually where this entire screen would be taken up but right here it's just this little small corner.
So let's go into face ID and we're gonna add my new face, which is the same face that I added before. So we're gonna click get started. And, oh wow, that's a look. So let me position my face in the frame and move the phone a little lower.
Lower, OK. There it is. So move your head slowly to complete the circle. Continue.
Move your head slowly to complete the circle. That's what I'm doing. Face ID is set up. So that's it.
So as you swipe up you will see that it's looking for my face, looking for my face, can't find it, but now we're gonna just go like this. Look at my face, and it's unlocked. It is absolutely magic. Now I know that you guys have seen this before on Android phones.
I've used it in my Note 8, I used it in my Samsung S8, but it's so different when it's in the palm of your hand and you're using it on an iPhone. And one of the things that I love about Apple is they're not usually first to do things, but when they do finally implement it they are the ones that make whatever it is that they are doing mainstream. So now I think face ID is going to be the new mainstream. One of the things that I found was very shocking is the animojis, and I've seen demos of it, I had tried it at the Apple event when they first announced it, but actually trying it and seeing it in person is kind of amazing.
Seeing the expressions of a poop emoji mimic my expressions is kind of something that you really do need to experience in real life. Now I'm gonna try and do a quick little demo for you, so you can see exactly what I'm talking about. So I'm going to go into my sister's message here. So hopefully I can kind of show you guys this at the same time.
Let's go to the poop emoji, and it sees me, and as you can see, I'm raising my eyebrows right here. Do you see it on this camera? The poop is also raising its eyebrows, so let's do this. 'Hey, Jenna. I'm just doing another test here on the new iPhone X.
And for some reason AH!' I feel like every time I started doing a demo of this my face starts getting weird. I start talking weird and just making ridiculous facial expressions. And watching somebody else demo the animojis I think is even more enjoyable than actually demoing it yourself. So let me know when you guys first see somebody actually doing this in real life.
"I'm just doing another test here on the new iPhone X. And for some reason AH!" Another thing that I thought was pretty cool is not only can you send the animojis as a movie file, you can save it. But you can also send them as stickers so if you want to just send a still sticker just like you would send any normal iMessage stickers, all you have to do is make that facial expression, tap and hold on the animoji with that expression, and drag and drop it into iMessage. Just like that.
And Jenna is just loving this just as much as I am. So I want to show you guys the size comparison between the X and the iPhone 8. And it's crazy to me because this screen is beautiful. It is technically edge to edge.
Aside from the small notch that's cut out. But what's insane is how small this phone is in my hand. To go from using this for the past several years to a phone that is significantly smaller, but yet the screen is actually larger than on the 8. It's kind of messing with my mind because it's very hard to comprehend and because the phone is actually smaller it makes me feel like the screen is smaller, but it's actually not when you hold it up next to this.
So it's basically taking this 10 and putting it on top of the 8 and essentially, it's just a screen it is just a screen. But it is a very significant size difference. So if you see these guys next to each other this one is almost the size of the iPhone 8. Not Plus, which I have here.
This is actually shocking. This is the iPhone 8, and this is the iPhone X. And they are almost the same size. I'm kind of freaking out right now, looking at this in comparison to each other.
Because I had no idea that the 8 would almost be the same size as the X. Very similar in size. The 8 is slightly smaller. If we put them up side by side just like this-- Here's the 8 and this is the X.
Obviously you can tell by the vertical cameras. I'll be doing a camera test later, so you guys can check that out, but in the meantime can we just stop and stare? Cue the OneRepublic song. "Stop and stare~" iPhone X in comparison to the original iPhone right here. Started from the bottom now we're here.
IPhone X vs 3GS. Can ya take a look? IPhone X vs iPhone 7 Plus. At the time of making this video I've only had it for about half of a day and in that half of a day it has far exceeded my expectations. And that's something that I didn't actually think was possible.
Like I was excited for this phone and now I'm really really excited for it, and it's in the palm of my hands. So guys, I just wanted to give you a quick little look of the new iPhone X. I have so many more fun videos for you guys coming out so if you're not already subscribed to my channel, make sure you guys click subscribe. And let me know in the comments below if there's anything that you'd like me to test out here on the iPhone X.
Also, I would love to hear from you guys. Did you preorder one? If you did preorder one when is your ship date? But I'm gonna tell you what, this phone is fantastic. And I am so excited for you guys to see the videos that I have coming up. Ah! I'm freaking out! OK, I will see you guys later.
I'm gonna go edit this video now, so see you later. Bye!.
So if we take a picture of Michael right here yeah, and then we go to portrait mode You can see it punches in what dude But that could just be solved by zooming in *Matthias's opening music* What's going on guys I am Matthias and welcome to a brand new video where I unbox the iPhone 10 But I don't stop there. I'm actually gonna walk around the office to see My landlord told me the rent was do. I gave him my iphoneX. Impressions of my co-workers see what they think about this iPhone if it's worth it if it's not if it's dope or if it's nope Also, Michael is joining me here.
He's a new face to the Channel show your face Michael What's up, guys sweet you too long there you go? I feel like most of you clicking this know a decent amount about the iPhone 10 if you don't it's Apple's new flagship phone That is quite expensive, and it's like an all screen design It's a new updated iPhone finally after a long long time because like for instance this phone right here That's my beautiful daughter right here How long is it looked like this iphone 6 iphone 6 plus iphone 7 iphone 7 plus iphone 8. I don't know exactly It's like three or four years crazy long time This is the iPhone 10 And this is what it looks like now one of the things about this particular phone is the fact that it's got the face ID. Recognition there's no fingerprint recognition which a lot of people are having a lot of problems with it Also has that awkward little forehead right there this bar right here? It's full of the sensor the camera the face recognition sensors I'm super stoked to get into this just because I'm like iPhone 7 plus is giant And I can't be walking up to people all the time and they're like are you happy to see me? Or is that just iPhone 7 your pocket? What's your what's your impression of this I think I'm about my pocket Dough, marina my assistant went and picked this up for me while we are filming all day here all right I got a charge on my card, and it was not cheap this phone is expensive 256 gigabyte version of this phone after tax like twelve hundred and fifty eight dollars crazy money for a phone all right here we go boom Got a good weight to it. That's definitely for sure.
It's got a good weight. You got the ear pods in there They are not air pods. You'd think they might be air pods for $1,200 dude just the generic stuff the Apple headphones the charger looks the same as always I'm gonna take this I'm gonna take the seven-plus out of its case right Boom, that's the seven plus This is the iPhone 10 this phone They say has a bigger screen than this one, but let's find out I was like it's not turning on dude That feels nice, dude That feels nice. Hello wow that is a big screen so now if you can get an idea for the size of the screen It's definitely longer if I match up the bottom of the screen you can see how much taller The iPhone 10 is if I match it up this way It's a little more narrow.
You can see the power button here is much much bigger, which I'm gonna like a lot better Just simply because you can feel it better. You can feel it in your hand and there's no home button okay this is the biggest difference one of the biggest differences the way They are able to get the screen to be the entire front of the device save for these sensors up here is by Eliminating the home button so now instead of pressing that home button you swipe This feels about the size of an iPhone 7 by its own fingerprint magnet though I'm really nervous though, so it could just be my sweaty palms may take a few minutes to activate your phone Try again try again Try again phone can recognize the unique three-dimensional features of your face to unlock Automatically first position your face in front of the camera frame then move your head in a circle. Here you go That's found my face move your head slowly First face ID scan complete second face face ID is now set up. That's my password guys don't hack me, please Please don't hack me tell my dad says Hey, Siri.
How's the weather today? My dad talks like that hey Siri. It's me your Close friend here is the iPhone 10 got the doc down here you got all your apps It's classic right. I have so much mail dude. Oh my gosh Top corner is how you get to your control center up here is how you get to your notifications? You can still swipe left to go to your past Widgets and things like that and you swipe up Its the home button now which is going to trip me out for sure because I'm so used to swiping up and seeing my control Center it's gonna.
Be hard to get used to that's for sure Let's check out some of our our little portraits or a little uh how do you do this portrait camera? I'm gonna test out the camera settings right now, so you guys get a better idea of how this works I'm gonna go to portrait mode and we're gonna test out this new Selfie because most people are super curious about that right, so this is a natural light I'm just really curious about what it looks like without it. This is what it looks like with that This is natural light probably the regular light with the defocusing effect, then we go studio light Contour light stage light background is too far. What does that even mean? It's definitely changing the lighting of my face, which is interesting the effect is not super dramatic It could be that little thing that you need to get those selfies sweet for Instagram for you to find that date. Oh wow Wow hahaha I.
Just really really don't get this but If you like it Hats off to you my dude hats off to you Well, I'm sure you have some fun with it But that's not for me so now the question is what will my co-workers think of this phone Let's find out whether they ready dope or a news oh Alright Wow gee let's see what people think And your phone did whoa don't touch. It didn't I'm just kidding dude. This feels really white and slick light and slick, right Well, it's like wick you need my face to unlock. Oh, that's right I was like wondering why I kept like jiggling the lock oopsie.
It just unlocked you got too many emails The slickness of it it picks up so many fingerprints yeah, I mean look at that Just look look at how many fingerprints isn't that super greasy I? The lack of home button, I thought was kind of cool the bottom of it like it threw me off at first I was like why does that look weird, okay? So yeah? I like it You know how to get out of it and everything like that the question now is is it a dope, or is it no? This is the Tex dude that's interesting I don't like how there's no home button that really bothers me like hailey. I'm luck it might unlock it I like the rounded screen. I don't know if I'm gonna get it yet Mm-hmm, but like I mean it's a pretty penny. I'm still paying off my phone right now 7s 7 That's tight though why is that of two cameras what's the difference one is the wide-angle lens and one is Not a wedding lens for like portrait mode and things like that so so if we take a picture of Michael right here Yeah, then we go to portrait mode.
You can see it punches in life, dude But just been solved by zooming in Not necessarily because the more you lose quality you lose quality I say is dope I phone 10 my Have no idea how it works or anything swipe up to open there you probably read directions Oh, so you have facial recognition already set up on a bit set up Yeah, okay, okay, let's test that out then Oh like yeah, it's not you got the giant beer dude. It's not gonna work There you go, I locked This screen has to be engaged which is kind of cool, too And you can't do it when your eyes are shut either you have to be away to the so like your girlfriend Can't go like pop peek into your phone So if you go to an app and you swipe up and hold that's how you switch oh I actually didn't even know that I think it's quicker. I like it and I like the fact that there's no bezel I see dope believe it or not though. I will say yeah when I first got an ounce I thought was a stupidest idea ever Oh Jay Check it out guys Well, that's the care army.
Oh, did I get mine hmm? Didn't tell you do that listen I like my iPhone for better or no ker you don't with a nice little screen see if you can hack it space-age Oh, yeah, yeah, there's no way you'll be able to hack this. It's not working already Tried oh it's ridin. It's not working. You need to read your emails yeah about nine thousand emails Why is that the thing that everyone mentions? I feel like the swipe is more natural.
Oh, that's terrible It's not great lighting. No. It's the fake bokeh it puts around you. It's pretty bad for the Forward-facing camera.
Yeah, it's not great, but the rear-facing cameras not bad new iPhone though all that is so cool That is great. So you have like a whole bunch more apps Yeah, you can put like one more row maybe so okay, so when you lock the phone How do you you have to look at you have to look at it? Swipe up from the bottom. Oh there you go oh Okay oh You just Calle iPhone 10. This is cool really hear this.
Okay. This kind of bugs me a little bit the bezel or the Forehead yeah, but I mean hey, I'll end up getting it eventually right What do you think that about the lack of the home button yeah, that's right wait. What do you do? I can't remember? Oh, yeah, oh wait. It's a face the face recognition.
So you use your face to go home oh? Yeah, good pretty pretty simple It seems like from the way most people are using it that it's pretty intuitively like Designed in the sense that like people just organically naturally do that overall I like it I don't know. It's not that different. I feel like so you say dope or no I say dope ten nice yeah Hey, win, you look sad? He's like You'll get used to it within a day of gives you that iPhone 10 what yeah seriously in that coal Well see a reaction of it. - [Matthew] The iPhone 10 is
packed to the gills with risk. Dozens of new technologies,
new input mechanisms, several manufacturing firsts, and an incredibly aggressive
timeline to launch. It's clear that Apple
needs this to go off right, but how did they execute? Most iPhone reviews are done
like technically-savvy writers put them in through their
paces locally or in a lab. My thesis was this just wasn't how most people actually use their phones, that it created a focus
on the wrong things.
Instead, what if you took
an iPhone to a place where millions of people
travel every year and use the absolute crap out of it
for several days straight? That, I thought, would lend
itself to a much more accurate through line between me
fiddling with an iPhone for a few days and what the average buyer might be able to divide
about how it works for them. So, I took the iPhone 10 to Disneyland. I'll get right to the point. Most of you probably wanna
know whether Face ID works, it does.
Face ID works very, very, very well. It worked the vast majority
of times I tried it, it never once unlocked using a picture of myself or another person's face. And the failure rate seemed to be about the same as Touch ID, aka, almost never. The Face ID also enables
some other cool things, one prominent example of the
way that Face ID enables this, is that you get notifications,
text messages, and apps that are private by default.
Steve Jobs: "...And we are calling it iPhone. Today, Today, Apple is going to reinvent the phone." Sup peeps. Sonny here, and this is iPhone X, the crazy expensive iPhone 10 years later. And you know what? Craziness aside, I really like it.
For the right person I think the X is a really good option. It finally feels like a new iPhone. Like something new. And the crazy part is that Apple is really pushing for change whether you want it or not because frankly, people will buy it.
Now, I'm not saying that I would have gone out and bought the X because it's Apple and I'm a sheep. This is my first iPhone, and I'm still gonna keep my Android device. But there are some things that I think need to change and Apple is going in the right direction. Sort of.
The X is by no means perfect. You either really hate it or you've accepted it. And at this point, you probably already had your mind made up. So, here's why I went with the iPhone X.
First of all, iMessage is probably the main reason why I switched over from Android. It's more convenient for my work because everyone else I work with uses an iPhone And I'm the one messing things up. Fine. Fair enough.
But I could've gone for the 7th or the 8th for the exact reason. But the thing is is that I'm ready for change. I'm ready for the next new thing, and I want to see what Apple is doing and give it a try. So with the iPhone X, There are a couple of fundamental features that make it what it is and one of the most recognizable features of the iPhone 10 is the display.
It's a 5.8 Inch OLED display with a weird resolution of 2436 by 1125 and it looks really good. It is super bright. It's got great contrast and the colors are amazing. The screen reaches all the way to the rounded corners.
And at this point, It's practically bezel-less. I mean it's 2017. Smartphones have smaller bezels. That's just how it is and the X is keeping up.
But in order for Apple to do this, They've omitted the home button. It is completely gone. At first glance, It looks really weird, and I thought I miss having a fingerprint sensor. But, face ID is really good.
It works at night in total darkness. And on the other end of the spectrum, it works on a sunny day with my sunglasses on. And now that it's winter and it's cold outside, I'm wearing gloves and I can still unlock my phone. Now, I think it's a little over the top to call the iPhone X.
The $1,000 animoji machine. Sure. It's like the one thing to show off clout. But, don't get it just for animoji.
It's cute and it's extremely fun, but I think, in such a novel way, It's showing off the potential behind the technology for FaceID. But you know, now you know I have an iPhone X. The camera is pretty top notch. DxOMark gave it an overall score of 97.
But, it's not as good as the Pixel 2 XL. I think the Pixel 2 crushes stills. Dynamic range. White balance.
Color accuracy. I prefer the way the Pixel 2 handles it. Portrait mode is a little interesting. Pixel 2 seems to outline the body really well and then blur the background in a more natural way.
But, the sharpening makes it pretty noticeably unrealistic Whereas the iPhone behaves more like the front of your face is the plane of focus and then everything else kind of gets blurred. Again, still prefer the Pixel 2's image quality. But, theoretically, It's all software. So the iPhone 10 could get better in a future update.
And of course, all that stuff is housed in the forsaken notch. Honestly, I don't even notice it especially when watching videos But because most content is 16 by 9, it almost feels like you're watching stuff on an iPhone 8 until you pinch to zoom. And then you start to notice it. And of course, it's cropped.
So, it looks like this. Because of this, I could definitely go for a bigger version of the iPhone X. But, this got me thinking... "Is 2:1 the future of content," because the X is not the only phone in 18:9, and most content is consumed on mobile devices.
But you know, I'm still wishing I could easily see my percentage without going in control center and view my recent emojis an iMessage like the TouchBar. Now since there's no buttons, Apple is relying on gestures to work the phone. And in practicality, I think this works better because now anything can be in that part of the screen and it's more efficient in that way. I've actually gotten quickly adjusted to the gestures.
But it's not to say whole gesture thing is a perfect solution. For instance, to check your notifications, you have to swipe down for the top left corner Whereas control center is for the top right corner. Seems simple enough. But that's almost a two-hand gesture in a way to do it comfortably without dropping a rack.
You can go into settings and enable Reachability. But then, swiping off from the bottom edge makes it a two-step process. Even in a horizontal app, it's now a double swipe up to get to the home screen making sure the bar at the bottom edge is active for the gesture to register. I will admit.
I was strongly against dropping the headphone jack. And, I'm pretty annoyed that I have to remember to carry around a dongle with me just to listen to music. Performance-wise, this phone is an absolute beast. It is buttery smooth.
It's got Apple's proprietary A11 chip, and it's just so optimized for iOS. Despite the ridiculously buggy iOS 11. But I mean, just holding the phone it feels great. It's real modern and premium feeling.
And it's probably, if not, the most shiniest phone out there which could potentially lead to slippage. Now normally, I usually hate the way cases feel. It adds too much bulk. It doesn't tend to hold up for too long with me And they get really nasty.
Not even gonna comment on the camera bump because it's not unusual in a phone these days. But because of how expensive this thing is, I felt a little paranoid these last few weeks going without a case. So I picked up a few dBrand skins. I'll leave a link to the ones I got down below.
I'm not affiliated with dBrands by any means. Like, all this is my own money And I prefer to be honest and not feel obligated to say something positive about everything So... There's your PSA. But anyhow, What do I think? I think the iPhone X is original as far as iPhones go For people who want a different experience and for those who are pretty flashy, I think this is a perfect buy What I recommend this is someone? No.
Whats up guys. Wale here from Geek.NG. I got the iPhone 10 here. I know for a fact a lot of people call it
the iPhone X, but does it matter? So, I got this from Amazon late in November
and it arrived about two week ago.
Back in November when I made the purchase,
I had to pay $1,300. I know
its too much for a phone. Even at the official $1,000 price tag, its
still way too expensive. And Im gonna be honest here, this phone
isnt worth the price.
Maybe 700-800 dollars wouldve been perfect. Maybe. Im sure youre familiar with the specifications
and youve watched several other reviews of the iPhone 10, so Im definitely not
going over the specifications. But first, I have to say this: I really like
this phone, even with all the shortcomings.
Its a great phone, its pretty nice and
I absolutely love it. With home button gone, I thought it would
be difficult to to adjust. Over these past past 7 years, Ive owned
the iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4s, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6s plus and iPhone 7 Plus. And its been the same old round home button.
With the iPhone 10, I was surprised I got
the hang of it in just about a day or two. Maybe its because Ive watched quite
a number of iPhone 10 videos before actually getting it. And the funny thing is, I started applying
iPhone 10 gestures to the iPhone 7 Plus. Thats how quick you get used to it.
And as a matter of fact, I dont miss the
home button any longer. Navigating the iPhone 10 is easy. Swiping the bottom bar lets you easily switch
between applications, and this is definitely one of my favorite features. I use it quite a lot.
Now swiping up and then to the right shows
you the regular app switcher. But then you have to press and hold to end
applications. Maybe that extra step couldve been avoided
with by applying 3D Touch and then swiping up. Navigating without the home button is quite
easy and you get used to it real quick.
But this new user interface can be pretty
annoying. Like you have to swipe down from the left
to see the battery percentage, VPN connection status and some other useful info you would
normally see on the status bar. But these are things you get used to with
time if the iPhone 10 is your daily driver. As for the build, this phone is actually smaller
than the iPhone 8 Plus and I guess a lot of people should be able to use it with one hand
compared with the previous Plus models unless, of course, you have super small hands.
The glass build is fragile. And except you love to live dangerously, you
should probably get a case. Im not gonna wait and watch it slip out
of my hand and then pay over $500 to repair it. Ive got a rugged transparent case for this
from Mosafe, You can find the link down in the video description.
Its transparent, its shockproof and
I like it. The iPhone 10 feels solid in hand though. Its heavier than the iPhone 8 but not as
heavy as the iPhone 8 plus. But, I wouldve preferred if it was bigger,
a 6.2-Inch screen like the Samsung Galaxy S8+ wouldve been perfect for someone like
me.
And the stereo speakers sound very good. Its got some some bass to it and its
the kind of sound you would expect from a $1000 smartphone. The speaker placement is brilliant. Youve got one here at the bottom.
This other grill is actually for the microphone. The second speaker is front-facing and its
integrated with the earpiece. The iPhone 10 has one of the best displays
out there. Its the first time Apple is putting an
OLED display on the iPhone even though its been on Apple Watch for a while now.
The display is what you would expect. Its crisp. Clear. And well saturated.
You have a 2436 by 1125 resolution on the
5.8-Inch screen. The iPhone display is finally catching up
with Samsung phones. P3 Color gamut support is a great addition,
but not everyone is going to find true-tone display useful. Ive left it turned on since day one and
its still on and I kind of like the automatic white balancing.
Still on the display, the only problem with
it is that same thing everyone is complaining about. The notch that cuts off part of it. But the truth is, you get used to it with
time. In portrait mode, you dont even know its
there.
Its a lot less annoying than I assumed. But in landscape mode, it can be a problem
when youre playing games or watching videos. At this point, I can only speak for myself
here. I mostly watch videos on the iPad Pro and
my gaming happens mostly on my PS4 console and the iPad Pro.
So, I hardly use the iPhone 10 in landscape
mode. But if you do, you might really hate that
notch. But then, Apple thinks youre gonna get
used to it and I wont be surprised if it becomes the iPhone signature for the next
10 years. Now, Face ID might be a new experiment for
Apple but it works pretty well.
Im sure you already know its very different
from the regular face unlock you have on existing devices. When it comes to picking up your existing
idea, modifying it and making you look stupid, Apple is brilliant. Instead of using your front-facing camera,
a 3D scan of your face is what the phone uses so it doesnt get fooled by a picture. This is done by bouncing several infra-red
lights on your face.
This works with artificial intelligence so
the phone keeps learning about your changing face I wish I could shave my beard to experiment
but NO. Anyway, whether you smiling, frowning or youve
got your face twisted in a weird way, the phone still knows its you. You can make it attention-aware, this wont
let Face ID unlock your phone if youre, you know, looking away. Or if youre sleeping and someone brings
the phone close to your face.
Its not gonna work. And for me, it works in pitch darkness or
bright sunlight. Its pretty convenient logging in to application
with keychain just looking at your phone. But there are times I really miss Touch ID.
Like when youre sitting, the phone is on
the table and you have to lean forward or pick up the phone before Face ID works. Apart from this, this success rate is almost,
almost as good as Touch ID. Youre only gonna hate Face ID if you have
an evil twin. And if you think its slower than Touch
ID, youre probably waiting for the lock icon to change before swiping up.
You dont have to. The camera is great, its amazing. But dont get too excited about the portrait
mode on the iPhone 10, its still nothing compared to what a DSLR does. And Portrait Lighting is still very much a
work in progress.
Actually Its really bad and I hope software
updates fix this. However, its a good thing you now have
Optical Image Stailization on the wide-angle and the telephoto cameras. Its a good thing you can finally shot in
4k at 60fps. Its also nice to be able to customize the
video settings and choose your desired resolution and frame rate.
To an average user, the iPhone camera quality
is still the pretty much the same as the iPhone 7 Plus. But the iPhone 10 seems to have a better dynamic
range and I think it gives less noise in low light. Animoji was the biggest feature of the iPhone
10 when it was launched and if youre big on iMessage, youre probably gonna like
it. When I got this phone, it was fun making weird
faces just too see what I was going to look like as a unicorn or a big brown poop.
I even did my own Animoji Karaoke but the
whole Animoji thing wore off after a while. But then, its the best way to tell people
youve upgraded to the new iPhone 10. If youre into that sort of thing. Battery life on the iPhone 10 good.
I mean normally, an average user should be
get through the day without charging. Based on my experience and use pattern, Im
very satisfied with the battery life. But then, you can drain it in 6 hours if youre
recording 4k videos or playing graphic-intensive games. And its gonna heat up.
Thats normal Other high-end devices in the market already
have wireless charging and as usual, Apple is late to the party. But its a good thing its on the iPhone
now. That explains why the back cover is made of
glass. The A11 Bionic chip on the iPhone 10 is a
monster.
The performance is crazy and with just 3GB
of RAM, the iPhone 10 now outperforms every existing smartphone in the market. The benchmark results prove this. On Geekbench 4, the iPhone 10 scores over
4,000 in single core processing and over 10,000 in multi-core processing. Its the highest any smartphone has ever
scored on the platform.
It the same on Antutu, over 200,000 points. Real life perforce is outstanding. Multitasking is great and overall, this is
definitely the fastest smartphone in the world right now. Well iOS 11 is still pretty much the iOS we
all know and not much has changed physically except for the the new gestures on the iPhone
10.
Im using iOS 11 on this and it comes with
its own little share of issue. There are times when stock apps are just unresponsive,
like the settings app. This happened like twice over this past week
and you have to go the home screen when this happens. Also, not all apps support the new iPhone
10 aspect ratio and such apps have black bars at the top and bottom, like youre using
them on an iPhone 8 or something.
But developers really are pushing out updates
and more apps are supporting the new iPhone. And finally, after years and years of waiting,
tap to wake if finally on the iPhone 10. That definitely makes up for the lack of a
home button. If youve been watching the video all the
way from the beginning to this point, you already know what I think.
Its a great phone, its may not be the
best phone you can buy right bow, but its the best iPhone you can buy right now. You can still go for the iPhone 8 if you dont
care about the old design thats already boring and the lack of a depth sensor at the
front for Animoji. But if youre still holding on to your iPhone 7 or an older iPhone, you
would be left out on whatever Artificial intelligence-related stuff apple plans to do with the new A11 Bionic
chip. Yeah, we all know its not a perfect phone. The notch is a reason for some to hate it.
The glass back cover is enough reason for
some to stick with the iPhone 7. But lets face it, the only real dealbreaker
here is the price. Its expensive and this phone isnt for
everyone. If you dont really need an iPhone and youre
not really that into Apples ecosystem, there are other phones out there you might
want to consider.
Cheaper phones but still powerful. Like the Galaxy note 8. If youre buying this, you already know
what youre getting and the price shouldnt be a problem. If youve already invested in Apples
ecosystem, you cant do without iCloud, and you think the iPhone is the perfect phone
for you, Apple knew you were going to pay that $1,000 when they made this phone.
Theyre not sending all those market survey
emails for nothing. Unfortunately, I belong in this category,
I went ahead to buy the iPhone 10 despite knowing this. Do I have any regrets? Not really. Im actually keeping the iPhone 10 and getting
rid of my iPhone 7 Plus.
Now, by next year, Apple is probably going
to have a better version of this new iPhone design with a bigger screen, they might integrate
Touch ID with the display and come up with a new A12 Atomic thats 50% faster than
what you have on the iPhone 10. And you know what happens? The iPhone 10 becomes just another old iPhone. Thats it! My review of the iPhone 10. If you like the video, please support this

- This video is sponsored by Squarespace. Whether you need a domain, website, or online store make it with Squarespace. What's up, YouTube, Saf
here on SuperSaf TV. In this video I'm gonna
be sharing with you my experience with using the iPhone X.
For around about a month now, although most people
tend to call it iPhone X. The one's I speak to anyway. Now, I'm not gonna be
going over any specs, or anything like that, because
if you're watching this video you probably already know all the specs. If not, check out my unboxing video, in which I go over everything in detail.
In this video I'm simply
gonna be sharing with you my experience in terms of what
I like about the iPhone X, what I don't like about it, what can hopefully be
improved for the next version. Now, to begin with, a lot
of you guys already know that I am primarily an Android user but, I always do have an iPhone
with me and I have had for quite a few years now. I've not liked an iPhone as much as I like the iPhone X for a very long time. The main reason for that has
been all the iPhones have looked pretty much the same
over the past few years.
Let's be honest, look at
the iPhone six, the 6S, the seven and even the
eight, they look practically the same. There's very minor design
changes between them and me personally, I
was getting very, very bored of that design,
so it's great that Apple have finally updated this
and I really like the new design of the iPhone X. First and foremost, we have
minimal bezels which allows us to have a larger display
and a relatively small phone factor and this
display is absolutely great. It's the best display on any iPhone and I'm so glad Apple
went with an OLED display.
The colors are more vibrant. The contrast ratio is so
much better compared to previous iPhones and
yes, I know a lot of you are gonna joke that, good job Samsung. And that's true, Samsung
have done a really good job on this and I'm so glad
Apple went with Samsung. Let's be honest, Samsung
do make the best displays out there, so the fact that Apple have gone with Samsung for this
display is a good thing for everybody.
Now this is also a true tone
display, so that means that it's gonna adapt the
white balance depending on where you are. I switched this off because
everything just looked too yellow for my eyes and
I do switch on a night shift when I'm in the dark but
I don't use true tone. Now one thing that a lot of
people have been complaining about when it comes to
the iPhone X display is this infamous notch. Personally, I don't mind it too much.
My opinion, it gives the
iPhone a very unique look. Like when you see this,
it's easily identifiable and it makes it stand out from the crowd. This is an iPhone and Apple
have really owned this notch. Could it be better utilized
with software? Yes.
Are Apple gonna really do much about it? Probably not. And after a bit, you kind
of get used to it and the only time you're probably
gonna have an issue with this is when you're watching
videos in full screen mode. Now, here's the thing. Most videos out there
are still in 16 by nine.
I mean, I'd say the
majority of videos online are in 16 by nine and
if you do go fullscreen, then you're gonna be losing
a bit on the top and bottom of your video and sometimes,
that can be a little bit annoying because people's
heads get cut off and things. So most of the time, when
I'm watching a video, it is still in 16 by
nine and that does result in black bars on the left and right but I've said this before. On a previous iPhone, those
black bars would've been there anyway but they would've
been there in the form of bezels. Yes, it's not ideal and
it's not the best use of this full screen but
most people use the device in portrait orientation
anyway and if you are mostly using your device
in portrait orientation, unless you're watching a
video, then the notch is gonna be okay for most people, I think.
Now we don't have a headphone
jack on the iPhone X. This was not a surprise for
anyone because we didn't have it last year. However, we do have some
good speakers on here. I'm glad that we've still
got stereo speakers.
Yes, they don't sound as good
as front firing speakers, but they still sound really good. Now, let's talk about face ID. I was initially quite
negative about face ID. But I've actually grown
to like it quite a bit.
It's super fast and it just works. So, just showing you
there how quick it was, very, very quick and easy to use but it's not ideal. I've said this before
and I'll say it again. I still think that a
fingerprint scanner here on the Apple logo in addition to Face ID.
Would've been really, really useful. So, let me give you an example. I personally check out my phone a lot when I'm in bed, right? Some of the times, I just
wanna pick up my phone, maybe just respond to a
quick message or kind of delay the alarm a little
bit or something like that and previously using
touch ID, that was really quick and easy to do. With face ID, if my face is
halfway sunken into the pillow, then face ID's not gonna work and then I'm gonna have
to kind of take my face out of the pillow to unlock
it and I don't really wanna be doing that when I'm half asleep.
This is something that is
definitely quite inconvenient. I couldn't unlock this with
my sunglasses before as well. There is a solution to
that which I've covered in a previous video. So, face ID is really good
but, personally speaking, if I was given the option
of face ID or a fingerprint scanner on the back, I would always choose the fingerprint scanner on the back.
Maybe that's just me but
I just think a fingerprint scanner would be much more
convenient and easy to use. Now, another thing that
supposedly came with face ID, which kind of isn't is Animoji. So, it looks like Animoji
primarily uses the front facing camera, not
the face ID sensors because if you cover them up, Animoji still works and Animoji doesn't
work in the dark either, which once again,
suggests that it is using primarily the front facing camera. Maybe some of the sensors
are being used a little bit to make a little bit better, I don't know.
But anyway, when it comes
to Animojis, I used them for the first day and then I've
not really used them since. Yes, it was a little
bit of fun and ya know, lots of people had a lot of fun with it and call me boring, call me old, whatever. I just didn't find myself
using Animoji again. It was one of those
things where the novelty really quickly wore off.
If you're into that
kind of thing, then hey, if you wanna become a monkey or some poo, then that's all up to you. Personally speaking, yes
it's a fun feature to have but the novelty wore
off very, very quickly. Now, one question that
a lot of people ask me is do I miss the home button
and the answer to that is, no, I really don't miss the home button. It's really quick and
easy just to swipe up and it's a very natural gesture as well.
So, when you're in an app
and everything, then it is really quick to do that. There is some situations
where it's longer. So say, for example, when
I go into my recent apps, before I could just close these, but now, I have to press and hold
before I can close them and it's just an additional
step which I don't really want. Now, I think what would've been nice is if they utilized the 3D
tough display to maybe have a home button area.
This is something that we've
got on the Samsung Galaxy S8. I'm not sure why Apple didn't
utilize 3D touch in this way. Again, not the biggest of
deals and I think most people will get used to it
after a couple of days. Another thing I really
like about the iPhone is how just smooth and quick
it is and that's thanks to the Apple A11 bionic chip.
Games load up really fast,
faster than most of the devices out there, but
multitasking isn't as good as it used to be. I'm assuming that's down
to iOS 11 and not being optimized although it
should've been optimized now 'cause iOS 11 has been
out for some time now. Hopefully, this will improve over time. I've had a few app crashes, in particular, in Instagram stories
where things just kinda tend to freeze, but generally speaking, the experience has been good overall.
Now let's talk about what
probably my favorite feature of the iPhone is and that is
this dual rear facing camera. You guys may have already
seen some of the SuperSaf style camera comparisons
that have been told and in my opinion, the
iPhone X has one of the best rear facing camera setups
on any smartphone right now. It has great dynamic range
and in some situations, not all, some situations,
I know some people are gonna hate on me for saying this, the dynamic range I
found was actually better than the Pixel 2 XL. The portrait mode as well
works really well on this and if you're somebody
who takes lots of pictures from the rear facing
camera, you are absolutely gonna love the iPhone X, no doubt and it shoots some great
quality video as well, up to 4K, 60 frames a
second, but not only that, it also shoots at 24 and
30 frames a second as well.
This is something that
we don't really find on many of the devices. They just have 4K, 30
frames a second, that's it. You can't really choose
different frame rates. Me personally, I like shooting
at 24 frames a second.
I just prefer that frame
rate and I can use that on the iPhone X. I can't use that on lots
of other devices out there. Now the only issue with
the different frame rates is that you can't change them
within the camera app itself. You need to go all the way
deeper than the settings to be able to change these,
which is really needless and it should be within the camera app.
But overall, the rear facing
cameras are absolutely great. Now, unfortunately,
the same cannot be said for the front facing camera. The best way I can describe
the front facing camera on the iPhone X, like
I've described on previous iPhones as well is that it's inconsistent. It tends to overexpose a lot
and there's so many times where things are absolutely
blown out and sometimes, they actually will work
okay but most of the times, in my experience, it
does overexpose the hell outta things and I'm
not the only one that's experienced this.
A lot of other people do
agree with me as well. The portrait mode from
the front facing camera, I don't really use it
anymore because right now, it is that bad. It just kinda blurs out
the ears and especially the sides of my beard. If you like portrait mode
from a front facing camera, get the Pixel 2 or Pixel
2 XL, that does the best.
Hopefully the portrait mode
will improve it's software, however, but when it comes
to the front facing camera in general, this is something
that I've noticed on many iPhones before and
I'm not sure why they over expose so much and
I really wish that Apple applied the same sort of magic that they're using on
the rear facing camera on the front facing
camera when it comes to dynamic range and that would
make it so much better. One of the things I don't
like about recording on the iPhone is the audio. Now we still don't have
stereo audio recording on the iPhone. This is really something
that we should have in 2017 and it's something that we
have on many other devices.
You will see in some of
my camera comparisons where I have a side by
side with a smartphone that has stereo audio
recording and that just sounds so much better. So, audio recording on the
iPhone X when it comes to video is okay but it's not great. Now we briefly touched on iOS
11 earlier on in the video and iOS 11 is generally okay
but, it is still basic for me. I like the control sensor
but the notifications annoy the absolute hell out of me.
I don't know why Apple do
this but just look at this. I've got just Twitter
notifications which I left on for this demo and it's crazy. Like my whole notifications
have been taking over just over the past few
hours and I really wish that Apple grouped these notifications together like we have on Android. Just copy Android.
I know a lot of you guys are gonna say, "Hey Saf, you're just an Android fanboy." But honestly, I've spoken to
so many Apple users as well and they've also said
that it'd be so much nicer if Apple just grouped all of
these notifications together and then you can expand those
and see those more in detail if you want but just
having, just look at that, this is crazy, it's just unusable for me. Are Apple gonna do anything
about it anytime soon? Probably not but it's just
something that I definitely need to address. Now battery life for me on
the iPhone X has actually been really good and I think
it's gonna get most people through the day without any issues and you also have wireless
charging as well as fast charging this time. Now, I personally don't
use wireless charging much, I'll be completely honest.
But fast charging is something
that I have been using for quite a few years now
and I'm also glad that the iPhone X had fast charging. The biggest issue here is, and
this is something that I've ranted about before in
this video and that is that you need to buy the
fast charger separately and that cost 74 in the UK, which is absolutely insane. You can get smartphones
for 74 these days. Every other manufacturer
includes fast charging out of the box.
Apple does not and they
charge you a very big premium for that as well and that's
on top of what you're already paying for the iPhone
X and as you guys know, it's not cheap. You're looking at $1,000 or 1,000. This, once again, doesn't
make any sense to me because $1,000 plus taxes still
does not equal 1,000 pounds. It should be around about 900 mark and this pricing difference
is reflected on pretty much every other device out there.
Let's take the Samsung
Galaxy Note 8 for example. It's $950 in the US. In the UK, it's 870. That is reflected in the
price because the pound is stronger than the dollar
but, for some reason, Apple have decided that
unless you're in the US, you're gonna be paying
even more for the iPhone X.
And I really think that's unfair. So, yes, you guys already
knew that the iPhone X. Is expensive. Is it worth the thousand
pound, or thousand dollar price point? Personally in my opinion, I'm
gonna be completely honest.
I don't think it's worth this price. Why is that? It's because there's lots
of other devices out there which offer lots of great
features, some actually better than this for
almost half the price. Let's take the Samsung
Galaxy S8 for example. It's been widely praised across the board and that currently is
for about 550 on Amazon.
I'll leave a link in
the description below. The OnePlus 5T, which just
came out recently is 450. So, you could buy two
OnePlus 5T's and have 100 spare compared to the iPhone X. Now, I know a lot of
you guys are gonna say, "Saf, you're just being
really biased towards "Android here," but I'm
just being realistic here in terms of what you can get
and what else is out there.
Now, if you're part of the Apple ecosystem and you want the best
iPhone money can buy, then this is the one to go for. This is the best iPhone you
can buy and it's my favorite iPhone so far. I really do like it overall but, if this is out of your budget
and I know a lot of people for which this will be
out of their budget, then I would definitely
advise looking around because there's so many other good options our there right now. That's what I think anyway.
I know some of you guys
are gonna disagree with me. Once again, I do really like the iPhone X. I just think it's too expensive
for what you're getting. What do you guys think of the iPhone X? Definitely drop me a comment
below and let me know.
