I've finally gotten a chance to catch up on some summer films, so without further ado, here are my favorite summer movies so far:
Iron Man: Let's face it, this movie plain rocks. Even if you aren't a big fan of comics, I'm sure you can find something to like about this movie, whether it's the awesome special effects, fast-paced plot, or Robert Downey Jr.'s witty repartee as the dashing millionaire playboy Tony Stark.
The Fall: I was very much impressed by Tarsem Singh's latest film, in which a paralyzed actor befriends a young girl at a hospital, spinning a fictional tale in order to manipulate her into procuring pain medication for him. It's hard to aptly describe such a film in a short paragraph, but believe me, The Fall is a visual journey that is well worth taking.
Wanted: This movie isn't exactly Oscar material, but what it lacks in cinematic sophistication, it more than makes up for in heavy doses of action, violence, and incredibly fun mayhem. Granted, this movie isn't for everyone. If you don't like Fight Club or The Matrix, then don't watch this film. But if you're the kind of person who's willing to sit back for two hours and be wowed by awe-inspiring special effects and gritty fight scenes, then this is the movie for you. Also, it doesn't hurt if you happen to be a fan of James McAvoy and/or Angelina Jolie, as both actors spend ample amounts of time onscreen.
Here are two films that I haven't seen yet, but based on the hype I think they'll be pretty awesome:
The Dark Knight: What can I say? This is probably the most anticipated film of the summer. Batman Begins was a superb film, and I expect no less from this latest entry in the Batman franchise. With an all-star cast consisting of Christian Bale, Maggie Gyllenhaal, the late Heath Ledger, Michael Caine, Aaron Eckhart, Gary Oldman, and Morgan Freeman, this film can only be the stuff of comic book legend.
Wall-E: Most people I've talked to have had only good things to say about this film. Some are even calling it "the film of the summer." Personally, I've been eager to see it since I first saw a few preview clips at NYC Comic Con.
So, what are your favorite films of the summer? Which ones would you recommend to friends, and which ones are you looking forward to seeing in July and August? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.

Great picks for summer films. I would add The Wackness and Hamlet 2 to the list of films that I am anticipating.
"Wall-E" really is as good as all the hype. It's definitely my favorite of the year so far.
Now "Wanted"? I can't see it. I realize I may be the only heterosexual male alive that truly believes this but...I find Angelina Jolie so gross that I can't handle looking at her.
@cinematicallycorrect: I don't think you're the only hetero male who isn't attracted to Angelina. I've heard other guys say the same thing.
@jainasolo2020: I forgot about those two!
