Transformers 2: Bumblebee, Shia LaBeouf make an appearance at Eastern State Penitentiary

I stopped by the Eastern State Penitentiary around 6:30pm, and a small crowd was gathered at the main entrance. We waited for about an hour, then the crew told us that they were going to be filming a scene outside, so we had to go across the street to watch. As soon as we crossed the street to the other side, tons of crew came out with equipment. Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox also came out! Here is a pic of Shia chatting with a friend (Shia is on the left):

Then they blocked off the road (Fairmount Ave. in front of the penitentiary) and brought out Bumblebee! The bright yellow and black car zoomed around, and fans rushed to furtively snap photos. Here are two shots of Bumblebee in action:

Bumblebee was soon followed by a sporty green Chevy Beat, and the crowd wowed in appreciation. Last was a red Chevy Trax concept car. Once all the cars were assembled outside, they started filming.

It was a short scene, consisting of Bumblebee zooming into the penitentiary entrance, followed by the green and red cars. (As Bumblebee drove by, I could see Shia's stunt double in the passenger seat. A man dressed in black from head to toe was doing the actual driving.)

The scene was re-shot a few times, and then they called it a wrap! Shia and Megan watched the entire scene, and Michael Bay could be seen walking about as he worked his director's magic.
